The Explore Shapes courses were very popular when first launched in 2019 and 2020, so I am repeating Explore Shapes 2 once more as a live course. It will run from 5-25 April with course access until 31 July.

Explore Shapes 2 is a three week long course with daily mini-projects perfectly suited to expand one’s creativity and imagination by exploring traditional and alternative techniques in water-based mixed media on paper. The course is structured to develop a vocabulary of new shapes, techniques and ideas suitable for use in future individual art projects. 

The main aim of this course is to explore colours and creative painting techniques and processes by means of dynamic projects, starting with simple shapes from a variety of everyday sources. Inspiration comes from basic geometric shapes, botanical plant forms as well as shapes found in letters of the alphabet and personal handwriting. By using traditional art material with modern ones and innovative 'outside the box' thinking new directions are explored.

Fifteen daily projects are inspired by topics ranging from buildings and blossoms to paisley patterns and paper lanterns to name a few. The course has three bigger weekend artwork assignments based on the techniques shown during the week.
